Precision casting is a highly complex casting process used to produce metal parts with high precision requirements. The precision casting process includes the following steps:
Mold preparation: A mold made according to the design requirements of the parts. Molds are usually made of high-temperature resistant materials, such as precision cast ceramics, gypsum, etc.
Wax injection molding: Injecting a wax mold into the mold to form a wax model similar to the product.
This process can be completed using injection molding machines or manual labor.
Sanding and assembly: Immerse the wax model in refractory coating for precision casting, then sprinkle fine sand to form a sand coating layer. Then stack the sand layers and assemble support structures and communication systems between each layer.
Sintering: Place the wax mold into a high-temperature furnace to burn the residue and form a cavity. This process is called wax burning, and the wax pattern can also be removed through other chemical methods.
Melting and solidification: Pour preheated metal material into the obtained cavity and let it solidify into shape. By controlling the cooling rate and temperature gradient, the internal structure and performance of the parts can be influenced.
Precision machining: Once the casting is completed, further precision machining steps such as finishing, cutting, and processing are required. These steps can be completed using mechanical processing or other segments to achieve the required dimensions and surface quality.
